Conquering cancer through the Word of God!
There have been a lot of people healed of cancer at the church I attend, Abundant Life Christian center in La Marque, TX under the ministry of pastor Walter Hallam. Pastor Hallam operates in powerful gifts of healings from cancers and I wanted to know what to do to draw from that gift. Many people have been healed of all types of cancer at my church- breast cancer, prostate cancer, colon cancer, brain cancer through Pastor Hallam’s ministry. You name it and somebody has been healed of it there. In each of those cases, the way in which they were healed varied greatly. Some were healed by faith and prayer alone. Others were healed by a combination of prayer and medicine. Some had hands laid on them while others did not. Regardless of how my healing was to take place, I knew that I was in the right place. I was surrounded by people of like precious faith which was the best place I could possibly be.
I got my bible and began searching for scriptures that the Holy Spirit wanted me to use to pray and stand on. I was drawn to the 17th chapter of Luke. Luke 17:5-6 And the Apostles said unto the Lord, Increase our faith. And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you. The Holy Spirit showed me that this was the scripture I needed to use. I needed to curse the cancer at the root, at the DNA level, at its origin. My father died of the same type of cancer back in 1978. It took his life at the age of only 44 years old. I was just a teenager at the time. The church that our family attended didn’t believe in divine healing and miracles. They didn’t teach that Jesus is Jehovah Ropha, our healer. They didn’t teach how to pray in the authority of Jesus’ name. They didn’t teach us anything about the infilling of the Holy Spirit Acts 2:4 talks about. In those days, cancer research wasn’t anything like it is today. The doctors were not able to get my father’s cancer under control or cure it. It took about a year and a half for him to die. He suffered a long drawn out and painful death. Now it looked like I was going to die the same way. I was the exact same age as my father was when he was diagnosed. After reading Luke 17:5-6 over and over, meditating on it, drinking it in, quieting down my mind to where his Word was my only thought, I stood up and yelled with all the force and strength I could muster: “Cancer, I command you die and disappear! I curse you at the root! Go from me now, in Jesus’ name!” Then I began to pray hard and fast in other tongues. After praying in tongues for a while, I went back to talking directly to the cancer. I said, “Cancer, I command you die and disappear! I curse you at the root! Go from me now, in Jesus’ name! You will not kill me! I will not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord!” I said these same things over and over and prayed in tongues hard and fast for an hour or so. Then I quieted down and listen for what the Holy Spirit would direct me to do next, and then I would go right back into the praying in tongues loud and strong.
1st John 4:4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
The Greek word “overcome” in this verse is the word “nike” which means: to overcome, overpower, subdue, conquer, and prevail. I said as loud as I could, “I’m conquering this cancer through the word of God in Jesus’ name!” Another hour or so went by and my voice began to get tired, so I decided to get some sleep. Tomorrow would be Sunday, and I said to myself, “I’m going to get my pastor to pray for me too.” The very next day my wife and I went to Sunday morning worship service so that I could report to my pastor and the church elders about my situation. I am so grateful to the Lord Jesus for the local church, a place where you can run to when there’s trouble. Nothing could have kept me from going to church that morning. I told my pastor that the doctors have found cancer in my body. He laid hands on me and cursed the cancer at the root and commanded it to go in Jesus’ name. With a very strong voice he said, “Cancer, I command you to go in Jesus’ name! Leave this body now!” I have sat under pastor Hallam’s ministry faithfully for the past 10 years listening to him teach on the subjects of faith and healing according to the bible. He teaches the church to be fervent in spirit, and to pray strong with authority. He teaches the importance of controlling your tongue, and understanding that you will have what you say. That same morning pastor Hallam preached a message about reporting to your own company when trouble comes. The disciples went back to their own company and reported all that was happening, and informed the elders of the situation. Acts 4:23 And being let go, they went to their own company (or local body of believers), and reported all that the chief priest and elders had said unto them. I didn’t realize at the time how beneficial it would be to be a faithful member of a local church. It is very beneficial. I had a great need, and I was rightly related to my church. But the devil fights believers over being faithful to the house of God more than anything it seems. He will try to do anything he can to keep believers from faithful church attendance because he knows that if they hear the Word taught regularly, they will become strong and overcome him.
1st Pet. 5:8-9 Be sober, be vigilant: because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour. Whom resist stedfast in the faith…
The church you go to can be life or death to you. If I were attending a church that didn’t believe in the miraculous, I would have died for sure.
